La associación Club de Ginebra (CdG) convida una refleción sobre la trayectoria e impacto socioeconomico del desarrollo de la Intelligencia Aritificial.
Some 30 years ago, Prof. Raj Reddy, a Turing-awarded AI scientist at Carnegie Mellon University set the vision of “The Universal Digital Library” —that anyone anywhere could just ask any question and get an authoritative answer based on all digitized human knowledge. A multidisciplinary group of people took that vision into action, pioneering the first multimodal multilingual digital libraries.
The Informedia Digitial Library Initiative built the first such solution at CMU. Fast-forward to today, LLM solutions are an embodiment of such vision in action.
Dr. Andrei Villarroel was research scholar at CMU School of Computer Science at the turn of the century, working on the Informedia Digital Library Initiative —the pioneering effort to make The Universal Digital Library real. He will share his experience from working in the field back with the Informedia group at CMU, and add his perspectives on where AI is heading today.
